libsystemd dependency
When trying to run the linux_x64 version of Alchemy (the current latest build on the Downloads page, Alchemy_Project_PBR_7_0_0_2145_x86_64
), by running ./alchemy
directly after unpacking the tarball, it is failing to start with
bin/do-not-directly-run-alchemy-bin: error while loading shared libraries: libsystemd.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
*** Bad shutdown ($LL_RUN_ERR). ***
I found this surprising since none of the readmes mention a dependency on systemd.
Some quick greps through the code also didn't highlight any obvious place where libsystemd would be required, leaving me puzzled.
I tested the official LL viewer and it runs fine in my machine - so this dependency is added by Alchemy.
Where is systemd explicitly used, and do you think it would be reasonably feasible to patch it out? It seems odd to me that an SL viewer would hard-depend on an init system. I'd be interested in contributing to solve this, with some guidance to point me in the right direction on where the dependency currently stems from.
