Fix Linux SLURL protocol handling

Known issue: May not work with Microsoft Edge Beta for Linux on some setups. Cause is unknown at the moment and requires further investigation.

I would like to hear about any concern or possible improvements before this gets merged. A project viewer would be best as many things get touched here and I can't catch every use case.
